History of the Scrolls cape

Scrolls was Mojang's card game, later renamed Caller's Bane. The cape was its top competitive prize, and you had to win to get it. minecraft.wiki says that from November 7, 2014, finishing first on the weekly ladder on five separate occasions earned one. Mojang later added the Scrolls MINECON Open at MINECON 2015, where the top four also got the cape.

For launch day, December 11, 2014, the Scrolls account announced that Minecraft players would see a Scrolls cape for the next two days. The temporary version disappeared afterwards.

Mojang ended Scrolls development in June 2015. The wiki says cape awards stopped on September 30, 2015, when the team judged too few players were left for proper competition.

Scrolls cape FAQ

How do you get the Scrolls cape?

It was a competitive prize, not a reward for simply playing. According to minecraft.wiki, you had to finish first on the Scrolls weekly ladder five separate times, or place in the top four of the Scrolls MINECON Open at MINECON 2015. Only a small number of players ever earned it.

Can you still get the Scrolls cape?

No. Scrolls development ended in 2015, and minecraft.wiki says the team stopped handing out capes on September 30, 2015, once too few players were left for real competition. The game later returned for free as Caller's Bane, but the cape did not come back.

Did everyone have the Scrolls cape once?

For two days, yes. To mark the launch of Scrolls on December 11, 2014, Mojang made every Minecraft player appear to wear the cape temporarily. That display ended after two days, and only ladder and tournament winners kept a real one.
