# Crafty — full reference > Long-form companion to https://crafty.gg/llms.txt. > Java Edition unless stated otherwise. Game data last verified for > Minecraft 26.3 on 2026-05-07. > Crafty is not affiliated with Mojang Studios or Microsoft. ## Tools ### Seed map https://crafty.gg/tools/seed-map Renders the biome map for any Java Edition world seed and overlays structure markers, slime chunks and the world spawn. Supports Overworld, Nether and End, five game versions (1.18.2 through 1.21.3), and three Y sampling layers. Everything is computed locally in the browser by cubiomes compiled to WebAssembly, so the seed is never sent to a server. Viewport state is captured in the URL for sharing. ### Village finder https://crafty.gg/tools/village-finder Returns the coordinates of the nearest village to a given seed and starting position. All five village variants (plains, desert, savanna, taiga, snowy) are detected and biome-validated against the game's placement rules. Villages sit on a 32x32-chunk region grid, one candidate chunk per region. ### Stronghold finder https://crafty.gg/tools/stronghold-finder Computes stronghold positions from a world seed using the iterative biome-validated algorithm, so the coordinates match the game exactly. Use the stronghold triangulator instead when the seed is unknown. ### Stronghold triangulator https://crafty.gg/tools/stronghold Finds a stronghold without a seed. Throw an Eye of Ender, record position and yaw from the F3 debug overlay, walk at least 300 blocks perpendicular, throw again, and enter both readings. Minecraft yaw is 0 degrees at south (+Z), 90 at west (-X), 180 at north (-Z), -90 at east (+X). ### Slime chunk finder https://crafty.gg/tools/slime-chunks Shows a 17x17 chunk grid around any coordinate marking which chunks spawn slimes. Roughly 10% of chunks qualify. Placement is fully deterministic from the seed and chunk coordinates and has not changed since Beta 1.4, so updating the game never moves them. Slimes spawn at Y=39 and below regardless of biome inside a slime chunk. ### XP calculator https://crafty.gg/tools/xp-calculator Converts between Minecraft levels and raw XP points. The curve is piecewise: 2n+7 per level for 0-15, 5n-38 for 16-30, 9n-158 for 31+. Reaching level 30 costs 1,395 points. Also lists how many of each XP source (mobs, ores, bottles, smelting) closes the gap, and emits a matching /xp add command. ### Anvil cost optimizer https://crafty.gg/tools/anvil Finds the cheapest order to combine enchanted books onto an item. Java charges a prior-work penalty of 2^pw - 1 levels per side of each combine, and rejects any single combine above 39 levels as Too Expensive in Survival and Adventure. A balanced merge tree (pair books, then pair the pairs) keeps every step under the cap where a naive one-at-a-time order does not. Bedrock does not implement the same penalty or cap. ### Beacon calculator https://crafty.gg/tools/beacon Block totals and effect range for each beacon pyramid tier. Tier 1 costs 9 blocks and covers 20 blocks; tier 4 costs 164 blocks total (9+25+49+81) and covers 50. Range is 10 + 10 x tier. Iron, gold, diamond, emerald and netherite blocks are interchangeable, and a secondary effect is available only at tier 4. ### Fortune calculator https://crafty.gg/tools/fortune Exact drop probabilities and expected multipliers for Fortune I-III across ores, crops and gravel. Fortune III guarantees flint from gravel. Fortune does not affect ancient debris, and it cannot coexist with Silk Touch on the same tool. ### Distance calculator https://crafty.gg/tools/distance Flat (X/Z), 3D Euclidean and Manhattan distance between two coordinates, plus compass bearing and travel time across eight movement modes — walking at 4.317 m/s, sprinting at 5.612, ice boat at up to 72.73, and rocket-boosted elytra at about 33.5. ### Nether portal calculator https://crafty.gg/tools/nether-portal Converts coordinates between the Overworld and the Nether at the 8:1 ratio so portals link where intended. Y is preserved. Minecraft reuses an existing portal within 16 blocks of the converted point when entering the Nether, and within 128 blocks when returning to the Overworld. ### Redstone tick calculator https://crafty.gg/tools/redstone-tick Converts a target delay into game ticks (0.05s each) and redstone ticks (0.1s each), then gives the repeater or observer chain that produces it. A repeater caps at 4 redstone ticks, so longer delays need chaining. Includes a delay reference for hoppers, pistons, comparators, observers and TNT fuses. ### Mob farm rates https://crafty.gg/tools/mob-farm Projected hourly output for 13 common farm designs — iron golem, gold, guardian, raid, enderman XP, creeper, blaze, wither skeleton and several plant farms — scaled to a chosen AFK duration. The Java hostile mob cap is 70 globally, and mobs only spawn within 128 blocks of a player. ### Loot splitter https://crafty.gg/tools/loot-splitter Splits a list of items evenly between any number of players, dealing remainders one at a time so nobody is short by more than one item per row. Accepts four input formats: 'Diamond x12', '12 Diamond', 'Diamond: 12' and 'Diamond 12'. ### Server pinger https://crafty.gg/tools/ping Pings any Minecraft server and returns status, version, MOTD, icon, player count and location. Java Edition defaults to TCP 25565; Bedrock uses UDP 19132 with a different RakNet protocol, and the two are not interchangeable. ### Votifier tester https://crafty.gg/tools/votifier Sends a real test vote to a server's Votifier port using its public key, confirming the plugin, port and firewall are configured correctly. The key lives at plugins/Votifier/rsa/public.key; the default port is 8192. ### server.properties editor https://crafty.gg/tools/server-properties Builds a server.properties file from a form with an explanation for every key, plus a reference covering every property the vanilla server reads. The file sits beside server.jar and is read once at startup, so changes need a restart. ### JVM flags generator https://crafty.gg/tools/server-flags Generates tuned JVM startup flags for a given heap size across Aikar's flags (the Paper/Spigot standard), vanilla G1GC and ZGC, with a per-flag explanation and ready-made start.sh and start.bat scripts. Allocating more than roughly 50-60% of physical RAM to the JVM is counterproductive. ### Server icon generator https://crafty.gg/tools/server-icon Crops and resizes any image to the exact 64x64 PNG the vanilla server requires, named server-icon.png. Vanilla silently ignores any other size or format, and the file must sit beside server.properties. ### MOTD generator https://crafty.gg/tools/motd Builds a server list description using section-sign color codes or a hex gradient, with a live preview matching the multiplayer browser. Vanilla allows up to 59 visible characters across two lines. Hex gradients use the §x§R§R§G§G§B§B form and need Paper or Spigot 1.16+. ### LuckPerms cheatsheet https://crafty.gg/tools/luckperms Searchable reference of LuckPerms permission nodes and command snippets covering users, groups, tracks, prefixes, temporary permissions and context conditions such as world and server. ### Achievement maker https://crafty.gg/tools/achievement Renders a Minecraft advancement toast with a chosen item icon, title and body, exported as a PNG at 2x. The in-game toast is 320x64 with a 40x40 icon slot, a gold title and white body text. ### Splash text generator https://crafty.gg/tools/splash-text Renders a custom splash — the yellow line beside the Minecraft logo — onto the real title screen at 1280x720. Drawn in 30px Minecraft font, rotated -0.4 radians, in #FEFE3F over a black drop shadow. Changing splashes in game means overriding assets/minecraft/texts/splashes.txt with a resource pack. ### Death screen generator https://crafty.gg/tools/death-screen Puts a custom death message and score on the Minecraft You Died screen over one of eleven real captures, exported at 1280x720. The message is white 30px Minecraft text centred on screen; the score is yellow 39px beneath it, both with a black drop shadow. Score is the stat that resets to zero on death, not XP. ### Sign generator https://crafty.gg/tools/sign Draws up to four lines of text centred on an oak sign texture and exports a transparent 243x264 PNG, plus a 1.20+ /give command carrying the text in block_entity_data front_text. Vanilla caps a sign line at 15 characters in the editor; the real limit is pixel width. ### Text generator https://crafty.gg/tools/text Renders &- or section-sign-coded Minecraft text as a transparent 64px-tall PNG, with the 16 colour codes, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough and animated obfuscated (k). Each run is drawn twice for the drop shadow the game puts behind every glyph. ### Observer meme generator https://crafty.gg/tools/observer The two-panel observer-vs-dropper Minecraft meme: a top caption the observer turns away from and a bottom caption the dropper faces, drawn in black 50px Minecraft text wrapping at 785px, exported at 1579x1560. ### Totem generator https://crafty.gg/tools/totem Stamps any player's skin face onto the Totem of Undying texture and exports both the 16x16 game texture and a preview. The totem's face is a 5x5 region at pixel (5, 1). Using it in game requires a resource pack at assets/minecraft/textures/item/totem_of_undying.png. ### Country flag banners https://crafty.gg/tools/flag-banner Hand-mapped banner pattern stacks recreating 24 real-world country flags in vanilla Minecraft, each with a copy-paste /give command for a shield or wall banner plus loom build instructions. Banners hold a maximum of six pattern layers. ### Pixel circle generator https://crafty.gg/tools/pixel-circle Generates circles, ellipses and sphere slices as a block grid in thin, thick or filled styles, with an ASCII export. A radius of 7-10 reads cleanly as round in game; below 5 the aliasing dominates. ### Player head lookup https://crafty.gg/tools/heads Produces the Java 1.20.5+ /give command for any player's head, including the base64 texture value and the UUID split into four signed 32-bit integers. The texture is a reference to textures.minecraft.net, frozen at generation time, so the head keeps that skin even if the player changes theirs. ### Item and block IDs https://crafty.gg/tools/item-ids Searchable list of 1505 Java Edition item and block IDs with stack size, durability, category and a copy-ready /give command on each detail page. ### Sound events https://crafty.gg/tools/sounds Browsable reference of 1838 sound event IDs with /playsound commands. The second argument is the source category (master, music, record, weather, block, hostile, neutral, player, ambient, voice), which decides whose volume slider controls playback. ### Particles https://crafty.gg/tools/particles Reference for 115 particle IDs grouped by type, each with a basic /particle command and a scatter variant for testing visibility. ### Advancements https://crafty.gg/tools/advancements The headline, hard and hidden Minecraft advancements with their IDs and a click-to-copy /advancement grant command, filterable by tab (Story, Adventure, Husbandry, Nether, End). ### Click test (CPS) https://crafty.gg/tools/click-test Measures clicks per second over 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 seconds. Sustained rates above 8 CPS are competitive PvP speed; 12+ generally requires jitter clicking and 20+ butterfly clicking. ### Color codes https://crafty.gg/tools/color-codes Reference for every Minecraft formatting code. The 16 colors (§0-§f) with their foreground hex, drop-shadow hex and JSON chat name; the five format codes (§k obfuscated, §l bold, §m strikethrough, §n underline, §o italic) plus §r reset; and the 13 Bedrock-only material colors. §m and §n are Java-only — Bedrock reassigns both to material colors. A live preview accepts § or & codes and emits the section-sign, ampersand and \u00A7-escaped forms. Java 1.16+ also takes full hex, as {"color":"#ff8800"} in a text component or §x§f§f§8§8§0§0 in the Spigot legacy form. ### Mojang API URL builder https://crafty.gg/tools/mojang-api Builds every Mojang player endpoint from a username or UUID: GET api.mojang.com/users/profiles/minecraft/ for username to UUID, GET api.minecraftservices.com/minecraft/profile/lookup/ for the reverse, GET sessionserver.mojang.com/session/minecraft/profile/ for the base64 skin and cape textures (?unsigned=false adds Mojang's signature), and the POST bulk lookup that resolves up to 10 names at once. Each URL comes with a cURL, JavaScript or Python snippet, an example response and its rate limit — 200 requests per 2 minutes per IP for most routes, about 400 per 10 seconds on the session server. Also documents the 13 token-authenticated routes on api.minecraftservices.com (profile, attributes, name change, name availability, skin and cape changes, blocklist, certificates). Mojang's hosts send no CORS headers, so the calls must be made server-side. The name-history endpoint was removed in September 2022 and has no replacement. ### Minecraft trivia https://crafty.gg/tools/trivia A 92-question Minecraft quiz covering mobs, blocks, redstone, biomes, enchanting and the game's history, as four-choice questions and true-or-false statements. Rounds of 10, 20 or the full set are dealt without repeats, answers are marked immediately, and the summary lists every missed question with its correct answer. Java Edition unless a question says otherwise. Runs entirely in the browser. ### Minecraft facts https://crafty.gg/tools/facts 296 facts about Minecraft, each carrying the source it was taken from and the date it was checked — most link to the Minecraft Wiki trivia section they came from. Draws one at random, searches the full set, and links a single fact by its ID. ### Death message generator https://crafty.gg/tools/death-messages Generates random Minecraft death messages with player names filled in. With no opponent named it draws only from deaths the world causes on its own (falling, lava, drowning, mobs, the void); naming one unlocks the PvP templates, which also fill in a random weapon or thrown item. Mixes real vanilla wording with the joke lines from the Crafty Discord bot. ### Enchanting table translator https://crafty.gg/tools/enchanting-table-language Translates English into the Standard Galactic Alphabet shown on the enchanting table, and back. The alphabet is a straight substitution cipher borrowed from Commander Keen, so the table is writing English in a different font, not a language. The words it shows are drawn at random from a fixed list of about fifty (the elder scrolls, klaatu berata niktu, xyzzy and similar) and have no bearing on the enchantment produced. ### Villager translator https://crafty.gg/tools/villager-language Converts a sentence into villager speak: each word becomes an h followed by one m per remaining letter, capitalisation is preserved (an all-caps word becomes HMMMM, a mid-word capital starts a fresh Hmm), and punctuation passes through. The transformation is lossy, so it cannot be reversed. ### Tellraw generator https://crafty.gg/tools/tellraw Builds /tellraw and /title commands in the 1.21.5+ SNBT text component format. Each segment carries its own colour or hex, formatting, click_event (open_url, run_command, suggest_command, copy_to_clipboard) and hover_event show_text. Click and hover events are dropped from /title, which ignores them, and commands over 256 characters are flagged as command-block only. ### Book editor https://crafty.gg/tools/book Writes a written book page by page with a 14-line preview per page, then emits a /give written_book command using the written_book_content component. Pages can carry links and change_page jumps for a table of contents; suggest_command is not offered because books ignore it. ### Armor stand generator https://crafty.gg/tools/armor-stand Poses an armor stand limb by limb with sliders or presets, equips it through the 1.21.5 equipment compound, toggles Invisible, NoGravity, Small, ShowArms, NoBasePlate, Invulnerable and Marker, and emits a /summon armor_stand command. Pose parts left at vanilla defaults are omitted. ### Display entity studio https://crafty.gg/tools/display Builds text_display, block_display and item_display /summon commands with background colour and opacity, billboard mode, brightness, scale, translation and rotation entered in degrees and converted to the left_rotation quaternion. Text opacity starts at 27 because the game does not draw text at 4 to 26. ### Banner designer https://crafty.gg/tools/banner Stacks up to six of the 42 loom patterns (including Flow and Guster) on a banner or shield, previews them on the real 20x40 banner face, and gives the loom steps plus /give commands with the banner_patterns component and base colour. ### Firework generator https://crafty.gg/tools/firework Designs a firework rocket star by star with shape, colours, fade colours, trail and twinkle, animates the burst, and emits /give with the fireworks component and a /summon firework_rocket with a LifeTime matching a crafted rocket. Flight duration 1 to 3 maps to gunpowder count, and stars per rocket are capped at 8 minus the flight duration as in survival crafting. ### Armor dye mixer https://crafty.gg/tools/armor-dye Dyes leather armor with the game's own mixing formula (integer channel averages, then max-component scaling), supports repeated dye steps, and reverse-searches the dye combination closest to any hex colour by CIEDE2000. Emits /give commands with dyed_color. ### Painting pack maker https://crafty.gg/tools/painting-pack Crops uploaded images to the exact size of any of the 51 vanilla painting variants (16 px per block, with higher-resolution multipliers), previews them on a wall, and builds a resource pack zip in the browser with a pack.mcmeta using min_format and max_format as required since 1.21.9. ### Gradient text generator https://crafty.gg/tools/gradient Blends 2 to 8 colour stops across text per character in RGB or OKLab and outputs MiniMessage , &#RRGGBB, §x§R§R§G§G§B§B, a JSON text component, /tellraw or a MOTD line, previewed in the Minecraft font. ### Time converter https://crafty.gg/tools/time Converts between game ticks, the in-game clock and real time. A day is 24000 ticks or 20 real minutes at 20 ticks per second; /time set day is 1000, noon 6000, night 13000 and midnight 18000. Includes a day-cycle dial with mob spawning, bed and villager schedule windows, the moon phase for any day, and /time commands including the newer pause, resume and rate. ### Potion brewing guide https://crafty.gg/tools/potions Every Java potion with its brewing path from water bottle through awkward potion, the effect ingredient and redstone, glowstone, gunpowder, dragon's breath or fermented spider eye, and its duration as drinkable, splash, lingering or tipped arrow. Includes a /give builder using the potion_contents component with custom effects and colour. ### Enchantments list https://crafty.gg/tools/enchantments All 43 enchantments in the current Java version, taken from the game's data pack: max level, primary and anvil-only items, mutually exclusive groups, treasure and curse flags, anvil cost multipliers for items and books, and what each level does. Includes a /give builder for the enchantments and stored_enchantments components. ## Reference datasets - Item and block IDs: 1505 entries, 454 with dedicated indexed detail pages under https://crafty.gg/tools/item-ids/ - Sound events: 1838 entries, 372 with dedicated indexed detail pages under https://crafty.gg/tools/sounds/ - Particles: 115 entries, 115 with dedicated indexed detail pages under https://crafty.gg/tools/particles/ - Country flag banners: 24 entries under https://crafty.gg/tools/flag-banner/ Long-tail variant pages (colored wool, stairs, slabs and similar) are deliberately marked noindex to keep the crawlable set meaningful; they remain reachable and useful to a human browsing the hub. ## Sitemaps - https://crafty.gg/sitemap.xml (index) - https://crafty.gg/sitemap-pages.xml - https://crafty.gg/sitemap-tools.xml - https://crafty.gg/sitemap-recipes.xml
