How to play Cave

Step by step, in game or from a command block

  1. Open the chat window in-game, or place a command block with the /playsound command.
  2. Type /playsound minecraft:ambient.cave master @a to broadcast it to every player.
  3. To play it locally for yourself, swap @a for @s — for example, /playsound minecraft:ambient.cave master @s ~ ~ ~ 1 1.
  4. Adjust volume and pitch with the optional trailing arguments: volume controls the falloff radius (1 = ~16 blocks); pitch ranges 0.5 to 2.0.
  5. Use a different source (music, weather, block, hostile, neutral, player, ambient, voice, record) when you want the listener's category slider to control its volume.

Can I change the volume or pitch of minecraft:ambient.cave?
Yes. The full /playsound signature is /playsound <sound> <source> <player> [x y z] [volume] [pitch] [minVolume]. Example: /playsound minecraft:ambient.cave master @s ~ ~ ~ 1 1.5 plays it at the listener with a higher pitch.
