Geschichte des Turtle-Capes

In March 2015 the Reddit user billyK_ suggested turtles on the Minecraft subreddit as a way to travel over water instead of boats. According to Minecraft.net, he kept pushing for them for years, and pushed harder once the Update Aquatic was announced without them.

Mojang announced turtles in December 2017 and added them to Java Edition in snapshot 18w07a in February 2018. On February 5, 2018, Jeb posted on Reddit that a cape was waiting on billyK_'s profile. Minecraft.net later quoted Jeb saying many people suggest features, but few become walking Reddit legends.

How do you get the Turtle cape?

Only one player ever got it. Mojang gave the Turtle cape to the Reddit user billyK_, who had been asking for turtles in Minecraft since 2015. When turtles arrived with the Update Aquatic, Jeb announced on Reddit that a cape was waiting on his profile.

Can you still get the Turtle cape?

No. The Turtle cape was a one-off reward in February 2018 for the player whose suggestion became the sea turtle mob. Mojang never released it to other players, and nothing in the game unlocks it.
