How beacons work
Layers, range, refresh rate and the activation cost
A beacon needs a solid pyramid of mineral blocks beneath it — iron, gold, diamond, emerald, or netherite (any mix). Tier N means N layers, widest at the bottom, with the beacon block on top.
Effect range is 10 + 10 × tier blocks, so a tier-4 beacon covers a 50-block radius. Effects refresh every 80 game ticks (4 seconds).
A secondary effect is available only at tier 4 — and only Regeneration I, or an upgrade of your primary to level II.
Activating a beacon costs one mineral ingot, gem, or netherite ingot (your choice). It burns once on activation and stays active until the beacon is broken.
