History of the 15th Anniversary cape

Mojang marked Minecraft's 15th birthday with a celebration called 15 Days of Minecraft in May 2024. The free cape landed on May 17, the game's actual birthday, since the first public build went out on May 17, 2009. Mojang's announcement let any owner claim it on minecraft.net and wear it on servers.

It was the easiest cape of the anniversary to get. No code, no stream, no event server. Claiming it once put it on both Java and Bedrock.

The same celebration produced two stream-reward capes, the Purple Heart for Twitch and the Follower's for TikTok. Later that summer came the MCC 15th Year cape, which is easy to mix up with this one.

Design

A light green checkered cape with a creeper face, with a darker green back carrying a light green number 15 near the bottom.
