History of the Translator (Japanese) cape

The name is a little misleading. minecraft.wiki lists this as a personal cape, not part of the Crowdin programme behind the Translator cape. It reuses that design and puts a Japanese flag on the underside.

jeb_ and other Mojang staff visited Tokyo for a Minecraft meetup around September 2013, and a player named cheapsh0t helped them out. Back at the office in October, jeb_ wrote that he needed to look into giving him a cape. The next day, October 11, cheapsh0t thanked him for it. He is the only known owner.

Design

It matches the Translator cape from behind. The underside carries a Japanese flag instead of the pink T.

Translator (Japanese) cape FAQ

How do you get the Japanese Translator cape?

You can't. Despite the name, it did not come from the translation programme. minecraft.wiki lists it as a personal cape made for one player, cheapsh0t, after he helped the Mojang team during a visit to Tokyo in 2013. No one else has been given it.

Is the Japanese Translator cape a translator cape?

It is a personal cape. It shares the Translator cape's look and has a Japanese flag on the underside, which is where the translator name comes from. minecraft.wiki calls it cheapsh0t's Cape and says it rewarded help during Mojang's 2013 Tokyo trip, not Crowdin translation work.
