History of the Twisted cape

Minecraft Dungeons II was revealed at Minecraft Live in March 2026, and its September 29 release date followed at the June 2026 Xbox Games Showcase. The Twisted Cape was part of the pre-order bonus, alongside the Twisted Chicken and two skins.

On August 27, 2026 Mojang's Dungeons II capes article confirmed the cape would also unlock in Minecraft: Java and Bedrock. Pre-order players had to sign in to Dungeons II first, then log in to Minecraft on the same account.

After launch, players on the Minecraft feedback site asked where the cape could be used and reported missing pre-order grants. The Minecraft Wiki notes that a refund takes the cape away and it cannot be earned back. The Hero cape launched alongside it with an open-ended login requirement.

Design

The cape shows the spine of the twisted warden from Minecraft Dungeons II.

Twisted cape FAQ

How do you get the Twisted Cape?

It was a pre-order bonus for Minecraft Dungeons II. Players who pre-ordered signed in to Dungeons II with their Microsoft account, then logged in to Java or Bedrock on the same account, and the cape unlocked there too. There was no code to redeem.

Can you still get the Twisted Cape?

No. It came only with Minecraft Dungeons II pre-orders, which ended when the game launched on September 29, 2026. Buying the game now does not include it. Mojang's Marc Watson also warned that refunding Dungeons II removes the cape.
