Geschichte des Common-Capes
Mojang launched the Common cape on May 6, 2025, with a short announcement: sign in to Bedrock Edition with a Microsoft account and the cape is yours on Bedrock and Java. The promotion terms ran it for a full year, from 9 a.m. PDT on May 6, 2025, to 11:59 p.m. PDT on May 5, 2026.
A Microsoft account was required even on devices that don't otherwise need one, and Java players still had to sign in on a Bedrock device once to collect it.
The texture was spotted in Bedrock's game files in January 2025, months before release, according to minecraft.wiki. Bedrock lists it with Common rarity, where nearly every other cape is Legendary. Two days after it launched, the long-running Pan cape came to Java for everyone.
Design
Based on the grass block, with a green rounded top that darkens toward the middle over a brown dirt base with grey specks.

FAQ zum Common-Cape
How do you get the Common cape?
Players signed in to Minecraft: Bedrock Edition with a Microsoft account on any device between May 6, 2025, and May 5, 2026. The cape was added to the account right after sign-in, for both Bedrock and Java.
Can you still get the Common cape?
No. Microsoft's promotion terms set the end at 11:59 p.m. PDT on May 5, 2026. Accounts that signed in to Bedrock during that year keep the cape, but new sign-ins no longer earn it.
Did the Common cape cost anything?
No. It was free. No code or purchase was needed, only a Microsoft account sign-in on Bedrock Edition during the promotion.
