Geschichte des Purple Heart-Capes

The Purple Heart cape was the Twitch reward of Minecraft's 15th anniversary. Mojang announced it on May 15, 2024, in its anniversary kickoff post: watch 15 minutes of any Minecraft stream on Twitch before May 31 and get a cape code.

The code went into minecraft.net/redeem. At launch the cape only worked on Bedrock, and Mojang's stream rewards post promised Java support by July 8. It arrived on Java a week early, on July 1, 2024, according to minecraft.wiki.

The heart and colours point straight at Twitch. Its TikTok counterpart from the same celebration is the Follower's cape.

Design

A purple heart with streaks on a white background, with purple corners at the bottom and a purple top edge, in Twitch's colours.

FAQ zum Purple Heart-Cape

How do you get the Purple Heart cape?

Between May 15 and May 31, 2024, players watched at least 15 minutes of a Minecraft stream on Twitch that had game rewards turned on. That unlocked a code, which they redeemed at minecraft.net/redeem.

Can you still get the Purple Heart cape?

No new codes can be earned, since the Twitch window closed on May 31, 2024. minecraft.wiki reports that codes earned during the promotion have kept working past the stated deadline, so an unused code may still redeem.

Does the Purple Heart cape work on Java Edition?

Yes. It started on Bedrock only, and Mojang said Java would follow by July 8, 2024. According to minecraft.wiki, Java players received it on July 1, 2024.
