Geschichte des Yearn-Capes

Yearn is the event-server reward among the three A Minecraft Movie capes. It was first shown at Minecraft LIVE in March 2025, and the A Minecraft Movie Live Event opened in Bedrock Edition on March 25. Players worked through a run of challenges and saved a village to earn it.

The last challenge was officially due on April 4, the movie's release day. minecraft.wiki notes that players found it could already be completed on April 2, which is why some accounts had the cape early. The event was set to end on April 7 but ran an extra week, closing on April 14, 2025.

The name comes from Steve's trailer line about yearning for the mines. Before the reveal, a placeholder called the Idaho Cape had sat in the Marketplace files, Idaho being the codename for movie items. Its stream-earned siblings are Home and Menace.

FAQ zum Yearn-Cape

How do you get the Yearn cape?

Players joined the A Minecraft Movie Live Event in Bedrock Edition in spring 2025, finished its challenges and saved the village. The cape was then added to both Bedrock and Java for that account.

Can you still get the Yearn cape?

No. The A Minecraft Movie Live Event closed on April 14, 2025, after a one-week extension, and the cape was only given for completing it.

Why is it called the Yearn cape?

According to minecraft.wiki, it comes from Steve's line in the movie trailer about yearning for the mines, which had become a meme before the film came out.
