About Bastion Remnant

What the structure is, and what it's worth the trip for

Bastion remnants are the Nether's treasure vaults — the only place to get the netherite upgrade smithing template you need to craft netherite gear, plus the Pigstep disc and stacks of gold. Enter your seed and this finder points you at the nearest one.

They generate in every Nether biome except basalt deltas, in one of four layouts, each patrolled by piglins and piglin brutes. Wear at least one piece of gold to avoid aggravating the piglins.

How it works

The placement rules this finder reproduces

The Nether places one bastion attempt per region using the world seed, and bastions share their region grid with fortresses (the two can't spawn on top of each other). The finder computes the placement the game would use and returns the nearest bastion to your search origin.

Tips

Getting a useful result on the first search

  • Bring gold armor — barter or wear it so piglins stay neutral while you loot.
  • The treasure-room variant has the richest chests but is guarded by piglin brutes, which ignore gold.
  • Bastions and fortresses share a region, so a nearby fortress is often close by.
  • See both on the full seed map.
