History of the Oxeye cape

The Oxeye cape is named after Oxeye Game Studio, the small studio made up of Jeb, Daniel Brynolf and Pontus Hammarberg that made Cobalt, which Mojang published. Its design copies the studio's logo.

The texture went up on Mojang's texture server in September 2022, and the file's embedded timestamp goes back to October 2015. Players only learned about it on May 19, 2025, when it appeared on the account iSxckk, presumably by accident according to the Minecraft Wiki. It was removed the next day.

Design

Copies the logo of Oxeye Game Studio, a circular white centre on black, with a few small yellow details.

Oxeye cape FAQ

How do you get the Oxeye cape?

You can't. The Oxeye cape has never been released. Its only known appearance was on the player iSxckk's account in May 2025, which the Minecraft Wiki describes as presumably accidental, and it was removed the next day.

Can you still get the Oxeye cape?

No. Mojang has never offered it to players, and the one known grant was taken back after a day.

What does the Oxeye cape reference?

Oxeye Game Studio, the Swedish indie studio that made Cobalt. Its three members were Jens 'Jeb' Bergensten, Daniel Brynolf and Pontus Hammarberg, and the cape copies the studio's logo.
