Geschichte des Translator-Capes

Minecraft's translations come from volunteers on Crowdin. On May 16, 2012, jeb_ announced that 29 translators had received a cape, chosen through what he called a secret selection formula, and only if they had added their Minecraft username to Crowdin.

minecraft.wiki says the cape came back on May 7, 2016 as a reward for proofreaders with notable contributions. Two near-identical versions exist. The Translator (Chinese) cape went to three people in 2015, and the Translator (Japanese) cape was a personal thank-you to one person in Tokyo.

Design

From behind it looks like the Chinese and Japanese variants. The difference is underneath, where this one has a pink T.

FAQ zum Translator-Cape

How do you get the Translator cape?

Contribute to the official Minecraft translation project on Crowdin. The first 29 capes went to translators in May 2012, and minecraft.wiki says that since May 2016 Mojang has given it to proofreaders whose contribution stands out. There is no published threshold, so you cannot earn it by hitting a set number of strings.

Can you still get the Translator cape?

Maybe, but it is discretionary. minecraft.wiki describes it as going to notable proofreaders on the Minecraft Crowdin project since 2016. Mojang has not published current criteria, so there is no guaranteed way to earn it today.
